SKB RS300 12ga Sporting Shotgun Review

This SKB RS300 has an MSRP of  $1,1769. I was able to get it for less from (REEDS SPORTS)

• 12 gauge (20 gauge youth model available)
• 3" chamber
• 30" (28, 26" also available in youth models)
• 7lbs 14oz 
• Length of Pull 13 1/2" but adjustable to 14 3/4" -  All the adjustable elements are amazing!
• Drop at Comb 1 1/2" Also vertically and horizontally adjustable 
• Drop at Heel 2 1/4" Adjustable with shims
• Cast is also adjustable
• Comes with 5 chokes

Ergonomics/Look & Feel

• I liked that the pistol grip was a bit narrow. I'd normally prefer it smaller on my field guns, but for sporting, this felt small (for me) and had no palm swell
• Grip texture was very nice!
• Oversized charging handle and bolt release are decently smooth but require a bit more force to run them
• Balance was a bit rearward but still natural. I imagine that sensation simply came from all the adjustable pieces of the stock
• I would have liked to see more weight out front to help my swing through
• Loading port is milled out (As it should be)
• I think it's worth mentioning that all the stock adjustments possible are super cool in my book. Hats off to SKB!
• Cross-bolt triangular safety in the back of the trigger
• Mid bead and front fiber

Trigger 

• 5lbs 14.9oz (Average)
• I noticed it was a little harder 
• I expected it to break easier - wouldn't want to pull much farther on the skeet field

Quality of Build

• I always look at the quality of the build relative to the price. The A400 XCEL overall lives up to the price point
• Even with all the moving parts, it all came together very well! Very nice tolerances all around. It feels great in the hand on the skeet course
• With that said, it's not a top of the line gun, but for the money, you're getting a great firearm

Ease of Breakdown

• Breakdown was a bit foreign to me as I've only done it with this SKB a couple of times
• Shouldn't pose to many issues

Recoil

• No problems whatsoever when shooting target loads. 
• Feels awesome overall!
• I'm impressed with how light the recoil is being that there is no dedicated recoil reduction besides the butt pad

Reliability

• From the shoulder, this gun handled pretty much everything I threw at it
• I don't anticipate any problems with this gun especially if you save it for the competitive course and take good care of it as you should 

Speed Shooting

• I was able to accomplish shooting 3 hand thrown clays in 1.30 seconds

In summary, I definitely enjoyed shooting this SKB RS300. It performed consistently in areas that I look for in a shotgun and I think it will continue to do so on the range and skeet course. The biggest highlight is the adjustability - I love this option.
