Should We Do This Again? | The FIRST Ever TFL Range Day

Celebrating 100,000 Subscribers with VIP Night and Range Day

This year, (January 2024) The TFL YouTube channel hit 100,000 subscribers! We asked the viewers what we should do to celebrate. The most popular suggestion was to do some sort of in-person event. You asked, and we delivered. And in the meantime, we had a lot of fun. So should we do it again? Let us know!

 VIP Night Kickoff

To celebrate reaching 100,000 subscribers, we decided to go big and held two special events: a VIP night at Steve's home range, and a full-on range day at the Alexandria Shooting Park. We had a ton of fun and now we want to know from you – should we do it again? Here’s how it went.

Welcoming Our VIP Guest

We kicked off the celebrations with the inaugural TFL VIP night right in my backyard. We drew a winner from our subscribers to join us, and Nathan Phillips from Oklahoma was the lucky one. He flew up to spend the day with us and attend the range day event. Despite his early morning flight, Nathan arrived excited and ready for a great couple of days.

Exploring the Safe Room

After arriving, we took Nathan to check out the safe room so he could select a shotgun to shoot. Nathan initially chose to shoot the Beretta A400 Extreme Plus, but was interested in trying other great guns like the Fabarm L4S, the Browning Maxus 2, and the Rizzini BR110 Sporter IPS.

An Evening of Fun Shooting Games

The evening's main event was a fun and competitive Annie Oakley shooting game. If you're unfamiliar with Annie Oakley, it’s an intense shooting competition where shooters line up, and the leftmost person shoots first. If they hit the clay, they’re safe. If they miss, the next shooter tries to hit it, and if they succeed, the previous shooter is out. This continues until only one shooter remains. We had many intense matchups, with Cameraman Jordan even getting on the leaderboard.

Wrapping Up the VIP Night

After a night of shooting, fun, and fellowship, we concluded the evening with food, drinks, and a campfire. It was a very fun time to hang out with TFL fans and compete in fun shooting games. But more than that, it was an absolute honor to host fans from all over the country right in our backyard, some of whom had traveled quite far: Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida to name a few.

The TFL Range Day

The next day, a larger crowd met at the Alexandria Shooting Park to participate in unique shooting challenges, as well as the classics, like 5-stand, trap, and skeet. One of the highlight shooting challenges was the Can Cannon Challenge. We had a high and far incoming clay target setup where participants tried to shoot it out of the air with a can cannon. If you're unfamiliar with a can cannon, it's an AR barrel that uses pressure to launch larger objects such as tennis balls and 12oz soda cans. To round out the shooting, Rylan and Steve performed a live exhibition show. Nathan, our VIP guest, bravely participated in a trick shot segment, showcasing his skills in front of a live audience. Though he didn’t hit every target, his sportsmanship and enthusiasm were appreciated.

Dinner and Prize Giveaways

We wrapped up the range day with a dinner, prize giveaways for competition participants, and a celebration of our first-ever TFL Range Day. Reflecting on the event, we celebrated our successes and took notes on how to make future events even better.  A huge thank you to everyone who came out to join us and to all our subscribers who made 100,000 possible. We couldn't have done it without you. Remember to live target-focused, and we'll see you next time!

Whether our targets in the field or our targets in life, we will only hit what we are focused on, so live the #targetfocusedlife
